Hospital Keeping Me BUSY

The last two weeks have been almost totally booked up by Thomas Hospital. They always keep me busy but with the new Clinical Pavilion just a few weeks from opening, they have me slammed with work.

I am making large posters for the hallways using both my new photos and scans of very old prints from the hospital archives.

Yesterday I was about 65 feet in the air on a man-lift shooting exteriors of the new building. Just a few hours before that I was shooting the grand opening of the new cafeteria, you should go down and try it. The new cafe is beautiful and the pizza I had was great....cheap too.

Stay tuned for more.

My Photography Business

It has been 29 years since I started shooting professionally. My first jobs were weddings and a few commercial assignments. After meeting up with a good friend and great doctor, Robert O'Connor, I started training for, and doing, mostly medical, surgical and ophthalmic photography.

I have photographed over 20,000 retinas for eye docs, around 60 autopsies, many organ donation (harvesting) surgeries and literally thousands and thousands of medical public relations shots.

Of all the cool things I get to do, my favorite photography is aerial. I have shot hundreds and hundreds of aerial jobs for attorneys, developers, coal companies, state and federal government and engineering firms. I love to fly and I love to take pictures so it is a "WIN - WIN" for me.

A few years ago, digital photography changed everything...it gave me a new medium to work with, more editing control and more artistic control of my work. It also added tons of time to each project...every hour I shoot has about a half hour of computer editing time. Good thing I like to play with computers!

Now that I have rambled on and on about my photo history, stay tuned to my new BLOG to see what I am up to and where I am shooting. Some things I do get pretty interesting.

Thanks for "tuning in"

John
